Hailing from Italy, Gianni migrated to Australia in the 80s and soon proved himself an asset to any establishment with his passion and enthusiasm for food & beverage. He bought his natural 'Continental' flair and vibrancy from Italy and soon won many connoisseurs of food and wine from all over the world. Gianni has managed many well-known establishments including the "Intercontinental" chain of Hotels and the luxurious Hayman Island Resort both in Italian and French cuisine outlets.
His knowledge and love for wine is second to none. A constant investor in 'fine wine', he always maintains a wine collection that only consists of 'the best' and also maintains a diversity of tastes, regions, geographics and also price. His dream collection was realized in 1999 when "Gianni Vintage Cellar Bar Restaurant" opened to rave reviews. His collection has been constantly updated, expanded and many times re-stocked! Many 'classic vintage' wines still exist for both the mild and extreme connoisseur but also many new selections including Gianni's own wine label has been added.
With a combination of exquisite food, diverse wines, central city location, warm, friendly staff, and passionate and experienced ambassadors of food and wine, there is no doubt that Gianni has excelled his expectations, as well as the expectations of true lovers of fine cuisine and wine.
